TL;DR
- Dr. Anant Vinjamoori has built longevity care at Modern Age, Next Generation Medicine, and now Hims, where he became Chief Medical Officer in June 2026. His own practice runs Next Generation Medicine's biomarker analysis inside Canvas.
- He tells people building longevity clinics to train their own clinicians, add longevity to practices that already work, and treat technology and systems as seriously as the science.
When Hims & Hers named Anant Chief Medical Officer of Hims, the announcement called him an expert in longevity medicine and preventive healthcare. His own post about the new role said more about how he thinks: "The defining challenge of this moment isn't discovery, it's delivery."
Where he has been
Anant spent four years at Virta Health as a staff physician and director of product, then served as Chief Medical Officer of Modern Age, a national longevity clinic brand that ran on Canvas, from 2021 to 2024. In 2024 he founded Next Generation Medicine, which gives longevity clinicians an AI knowledge assistant, biomarker analysis, and a clinical academy, and he worked with Canvas on Anova, a longevity EMR built around his protocols. He has also advised Superpower and Midi Health.
Bringing Next Generation Medicine into Canvas
Anant's team has brought Next Generation Medicine's industry leading longevity knowledge biomarker analysis into his practice's Canvas chart as a plugin. The app pulls the clinical data already in the chart and runs it through Next Generation Medicine's analysis to produce a highly detailed systems-level report, which files into the patient's documents and creates a task for the care team.
NGM looks forward to making this capability available for longevity practices very soon!

What he tells people building clinics
"It's nearly impossible to hire clinicians who already know how to practice longevity medicine," he wrote in a 2025 post. At Modern Age his answer was a structured training program for physicians, and Next Generation Medicine now offers that training to other clinics.
He also advises adding longevity services to a practice that already works, such as skin aging protocols in dermatology or hormone optimization in an OB/GYN practice. He argues that path carries less risk and gives the business a clearer way to scale.
Looking back on Modern Age in a 2024 interview with Out-Of-Pocket, he said one lesson he would pass on is to "engage the right clinical expertise and find the right clinical tools as early as possible. The clinical component of a longevity business is the lifeblood." In his view, clinicians also need to know how to run operations, use technology, and build a sustainable business.
Delivery is a systems problem
On his website, Anant says the same gap showed up in every role: "the science was moving faster than any clinician could follow, and the tools to practice rigorously simply didn't exist." One of his operating principles reads, "Systems are how it becomes real. An intervention that can't scale doesn't help anyone."
